amplification of a folded space

This installation by Nathalie Brum and Lorenz Rommelspacher explores the acoustic properties of complex architectural spaces through sound. By amplifying and manipulating spatial folds and resonances, the piece reveals hidden sonic layers that typically go unnoticed. It invites the audience to experience space as a dynamic, living entity shaped by sound and perception.
Using contact microphones, transducers, and spatial audio techniques, the work captures and amplifies subtle vibrations and echoes within architectural folds. The installation challenges conventional listening habits by turning architectural details into active sound sources, fostering a heightened awareness of the relationship between space and sound.
