Durchlaufhärteanlage für Antriebswellen
Twelve months make a year, seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Weekends occur on Saturdays and Sundays. Society has agreed upon a rhythm that doesn't apply to shift workers. Their rhythm conforms to the eternal triad of early, late, and night shifts, ensuring continuous production. This piece explores the relentless cycles of industrial labor and the human adaptation to mechanized time structures.
Presented as part of the "Sonify)))" concert series curated by Düsseldorf composer and artist Phillip Schulze, the work delves into the sonification of data—the transformation of data into sound. Over three consecutive Wednesday evenings, works by international artists and students from the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf were performed, many composed specifically for this occasion. This piece contributes to the series by audibly interpreting the rhythms and routines dictated by industrial processes.
