Trio Wellenbad
Trio Wellenbad is a collective of composers and artists creating immersive sound installations designed for audiences actively swimming underwater. It explores the interplay of water and sound waves, merging everyday life with artistic experience. Composers Joseph Baader, Nathalie Brum, and Vincent Stange perform as Trio Wellenbad, bringing their unique underwater sound compositions to public baths with specialized underwater speakers.
The installation features underwater loudspeakers that transmit sound directly through water, creating a unique acoustic environment where bathers can listen while swimming. The works include Fließrichtung (Nathalie Brum, World Premiere 2023) and Andere Wellen (Joseph Baader, Vincent Stange, World Premiere 2023), alternating during regular pool hours. Additionally, live concerts with the Trio and guest artists offer a rare sonic experience both below and above water.

Core Concept
Trio Wellenbad blurs the line between everyday life and art. Founded in 2022 by composer Joseph Baader, sound artist Nathalie Brum, and composer Vincent Stange, the trio creates underwater sound installations in public pools.
Their work brings contemporary sound into everyday spaces, reaching unexpected audiences and provoking new listening experiences. To engage young people, they offer workshops on sound and creative voice work in local schools, opening access to contemporary art forms.
The trio regularly collaborates with guest female* artists to promote diversity and visibility in the independent music scene.
